El MARM entama la so participación nel estudiu del Cañón d'Avilés

La Secretaría Xeneral de la Mar entama la participación nel estudiu de los fondos marinos del Cañón d'Avilés que va apurrir información pa conocer les sos carauterístiques.
Esta ye la segunda campaña que promueve'l Ministeriu de Mediu Ambiente, Mediu Rural y Marín mientres esti añu pal proyectu Life+Indemares, tres l'acabación de la prospección nel Bancu canariu de la Concepción, según informó'l Ministeriu nuna nota prensa.
La campaña, que dirixe l'Institutu Español d'Oceanografía, tien como oxetivos realizar el llevantamientu batimétricu multihaz y reconocencia sísmica d'alta resolución de la zona, según el llogru de muestres de los posos y roques del fondu marín. Amás van facese muestreos de comunidaes bentóniques sobre sustratos sedimentarios y rocosos, según observaciones sobre la presencia d'aves y cetáceos.
El Ministeriu de Mediu Ambiente y Mediu Rural y Marín va contribuyir col buque d'investigación pesquera y oceanográfica 'Vizconde de Eza' al desarrollu d'esti estudiu marín pa la ellaboración del inventariu y designación de la Rede Natura 2000 n'árees marines d'España.
El proyeutu Life+Indemares tien como oxeto contribuyir a la protección y usu sostenible de la biodiversidá nos mares españoles. Esta iniciativa previo l'estudiu de diez árees alcontraes na zona Atlántica y Mediterránea que formen parte d'una propuesta d'identificación, inventariáu y designación de la biodiversidá marina pa la so inclusión na Rede Natura 2000.
Esti instrumentu financieru específicu pa la Rede Natura 2000 cuenta con un presupuestu de 15,4 millones d'euros, que ta cofinanciáu pola Comisión Europea nun cincuenta por cientu.
Cañón d'Avilés
Esti cañón submarín alcuéntrase a siete milles de la costa, que trescurre dende una fondura de 140 metros sobre la plataforma hasta los 4.750 metros de la base de la turria. Dientro del proyeutu Life+Indemares, el Cañón d'Avilés constitúi ún de los ecosistemes más estraordinarios de la plataforma del Mar Cantábricu onde s'atopen hábitats pa los reproductores d'importantes especies d'interés comercial, como la merluza y el pixín.
La mariña asturiana concentra la mayor biodiversidá de cetáceos del Cantábricu, siendo les especies más numberoses los delfines comunes, llistáu y mular y el calderón común, qu'habiten principalmente nes sos principales poblaciones habiten nes fondures del cañón d'Avilés.
